God and Muhammad

Spirituality in everyday life

Mark Vernon & Ziauddin Sardar

Thursday 1 November, 7.30pm

Despite being in an era of multi-faiths and spirituality, have we lost touch with the innate knowledge and sense of religion that previous generations could draw on? Whether or not you choose to engage with spirituality or religion, today’s world at a personal, cultural, social and geopolitical level is profoundly shaped by religious differences as well as commonalities. Mark Vernon and Ziauddin Sardar examine how people and traditions are engaging with the divine today, in particular with God and Muhammad.

Mark Vernon was formerly a priest in the Church of England and is now a writer and broadcaster. He is an honorary research fellow at Birkbeck College, University of London. Ziauddin Sardar is Professor of Law and Society at Middlesex University and Co-editor of Critical Muslim. He is Chair of the Muslim Institute in London.

Tickets: £8, concs £6
